Being a part of some kind of social media outlet since Freshman year of high school (Xanga, Myspace, Facebook - what an evolution!), I have come to find that my favorite part of it is getting comments! I don't know what it is about getting feedback over your thoughts, but it feels GOOD. And you just want more and more!
The blogging world is a bit more personal than Facebook and Twitter, but getting feedback on a certain post feels just as awesome as it would on the other sites. Recieving comments and feedback on a blog post is absolutely vital to having a successful blog. Admit it, us bloggers all hope and pray that our certain blogs will "take off" at some point. Look at Perez Hilton (my blogging hero). When he realized his acting career in LA was never going to take off, he started blogging and hating on the people that did have successful careers. Little did he know that his little concept turned out to be one of the biggest blogs on the planet, and growing! Hilton would not be on the level he is on without people's comments. His blog grew and grew because of people's feedback on every post. A blog will die without comments!
So what is an effective way to recieve comments on a blog? Well, it is important that the blog is about something interesting that would create some feedback. Other ideas include including polls, taking pictures, or simply asking a reader what they think about the post. It's not that hard once you think about it! I am going to include a watercooler topic at the end of every post from now on to get your thoughts on board!
So readers, what did you think about today's post? Today's watercooler topic: Trashy Reality Television. I am a sucker for these shows and not afraid to say it. My personal favorite (for now) is Teen Mom. What is your favorite show that you just hate to love?
I try to avoid reality TV, but I can't seem to help it!!! Teen Mom is one of my favorites. And Jersey Shore (which I try to avoid because I'm FROM New Jersey & it's just plain embarrassing). Jerseylicious on Style is actually pretty funny...but also embarrassing when you're from Jersey. Like really, where do these people come from?!? I've never seen them before.
