Topic of the week: COMMENT! I WANT COMMENTS!

Being a part of some kind of social media outlet since Freshman year of high school (Xanga, Myspace, Facebook - what an evolution!), I have come to find that my favorite part of it is getting comments! I don't know what it is about getting feedback over your thoughts, but it feels GOOD. And you just want more and more!

The blogging world is a bit more personal than Facebook and Twitter, but getting feedback on a certain post feels just as awesome as it would on the other sites. Recieving comments and feedback on a blog post is absolutely vital to having a successful blog. Admit it, us bloggers all hope and pray that our certain blogs will "take off" at some point. Look at Perez Hilton (my blogging hero). When he realized his acting career in LA was never going to take off, he started blogging and hating on the people that did have successful careers. Little did he know that his little concept turned out to be one of the biggest blogs on the planet, and growing! Hilton would not be on the level he is on without people's comments. His blog grew and grew because of people's feedback on every post. A blog will die without comments!

So what is an effective way to recieve comments on a blog? Well, it is important that the blog is about something interesting that would create some feedback. Other ideas include including polls, taking pictures, or simply asking a reader what they think about the post. It's not that hard once you think about it! I am going to include a watercooler topic at the end of every post from now on to get your thoughts on board!

So readers, what did you think about today's post? Today's watercooler topic: Trashy Reality Television. I am a sucker for these shows and not afraid to say it. My personal favorite (for now) is Teen Mom. What is your favorite show that you just hate to love?

Hello, blog world.

It has been too long. I'm back, and this time it's for good (I hope so, at least).

Part of me has created the Ashley Affair blog because it is required for class (yeah, public relations!). Then, the other part of me actually thinks it is a good thing to have a blog (and keep up with it). Writing my thoughts down can't be a bad thing, right? It will be good to look back on these interesting times in my life as well.

So what is new? Tons.

I'm not going to get into all of it, but I've made my second college transfer to FGCU and LOVE it. Best decision ever. I rushed and pledged a sorority, Chi Omega. I'm still with my boyfriend of almost TWO years (!!!).  I didn't have problems finding a job (THANK GOD), and I'm now a barista at Barnes and Noble Cafe. I love that, too. For the first time in what seems like an extremely long period of time, I'm content. And it's the best feeling in the world :)

So now that I've settled into my new home in Fort Myers, I can focus on what I have been working hard at doing for three years now, and that is getting my degree in Public Relations. PR is what I was born to do, and I am loving the fact that I am taking my core classes that I will actually be using in my life. I have major dreams, and I am going to do whatever I can to make them come true. The main dream that I have is to become a major entertainment publicist in Los Angeles, California. The city of dreams. MY city of dreams. MY city of REALITIES. I know that I am going to make my dream career a reality.

So what is to come?

Many things. This is the first day of the rest of my life. The picture I posted at the beginning of myself at Coronado Beach is symbolic. I am looking out at the everlasting ocean, into my future. Good things are to come :) Welcome to the Ashley Agenda!
